No - I don't have a card-reader

You will need to use a card-reader to confirm certain Online Banking transactions.

When you are banking online, you may be asked to use your card-reader when you:

  • Set up or change a single or regular payment instruction
  • Make a payment for the first time online via a payment instruction that you previously set up or amended
  • Create or amend a Standing Order
  • Change the PIN or password you use to log in to Online Banking
  • Amend your personal details and preferences e.g. mobile phone details

If you don't have a card-reader, you can order one using your Online Banking service. Simply go to 'Security' then select 'Order a card-reader' from the 'Using a card-reader' section.

Remember you don't need a card-reader to log in.
